The Cleveland Browns had announced that QB Joshua Dobbs was going to be the primary backup to Deshaun Watson and now Dorian Thompson-Robinson (DTR) would be 3rd-string, that didn’t last long.
As reported by NFL Network’s, Tom Pelissero, the Browns are shipping Dobbs off to the Arizona along with a 2024 7th-round pick in exchange for a 2024 5th-round pick.

The Cardinals are desperately looking at adding another QB as the season approaches. Arizona has Colt McCoy and rookie Clayton Tune battling so Dobbs will be thrown into that competition until Kyler Murray returns from injury.
Cleveland is keeping QB Kellen Mond after this move. They pulled him back from waivers per Browns reporter, Mary Kay Cabot. Mond will be the 3rd-string QB.
One of the most dynamic players of the NFL preseason so far has been the 5th-round selection of DTR from UCLA. The Browns feel confident about making him the backup behind Deshaun Watson and Cleveland also saves 1.5 million in cap space.
