We head to Comerica Park for the rubber game between the Tampa Bay Rays and Detroit Tigers. Tampa Bay blanked Detroit 8-0 in game one, while the Tigers bounced back with a 4-2 win Saturday afternoon.
Tampa hands the ball to their ace Tyler Glasnow who was lights out in the month of July. Glasnow recorded five straight starts surrendering two runs or less. He’ll oppose right hander Matt Manning for Detroit, who’s been hit hard his last two starts. Over the last 11 innings pitched, he’s given up 11 runs.
The Rays had opportunities yesterday to get on the board, but were unable to get any clutch hitting. They’re 5-0 after a loss to an AL Central opponent. Detroit, on the other hand, is 0-8 after a home win against an AL East team.
Tampa can’t afford to let series slip away against below .500 teams with them trailing the O’s in the standings. With Detroit’s track record I absolutely expect the Rays to win this game. We are never looking to lay -200 and the run line isn’t a bad play, but I like my money early.
