San Francisco 49ers:
Ok barring some serious levels of bad luck when it mattered last year (QBs hospitalised in one game) this team is the most rounded out, dangerous, can beat you in more ways than a Swiss Army knife machine that it took those QB issues to halt them. Now they’ve got some issues with a certain pass rusher that’s elite and deserves that level of payment without question the heartbeat of that defensive unit. Nick Bosa has to get paid but how much will that effect keeping the core of this team together enough to take on up and comers down the line, can they upgrade the Oline can they pay a QB on the rise, every year that goes by and no success in the race for the Super Bowl that window will start to close on them and times ticking now.
Buffalo Bills:
So the Bills aren’t as complete as the niners but they’ve got a top level QB and a lot of guys in that team that will feel this year is their last chance to win with the Bills, Floyd, Von Miller, Diggs are just a few names. The issue is contracts are catching up and holes are appearing now Oline isn’t great, WR behind Diggs isn’t exactly consistent then there’s the RB spot, Cook+Cook would elevate this team but seems like that’s unlikely now which leaves them short again and this is all before actually realising the division they’re in and the teams around them which politely put is stronger than most seasons.
LA Chargers:
Well huge news is Herbert got paid, locked down the QB that’s great news right? Kinda, Chargers have talent and the QB for their future but their window is most definitely now with a new OC to help elevate the offensive unit and players just being healthy is a big benefit for this team but that doesn’t mean anything’s certain, only last year they blew an unforgivable lead and have been sat on it ever since, can they take on the Chiefs, can they lay to rest those demons? Now they’re in a midway spot with some younger talent but also some experienced guys that may start to slow down, at WR alone Williams and Allen have been fighting injuries consistently and at RB what level of production will we see from Ekeler considering his issues off the field with pay etc, this really is a swing hit or miss kinda season for the Chargers but if they don’t improve on last year it starts to feel like a head on collision with a brick wall mentality.
