The MLB All-Star Game is the realest of the All-Star games and while watching one can actually see the sport played the way it is but with one gimmick, the best players.

The NBA All-Star game is just the league’s best trying to alley-oop dunk for three quarters and then the game gets somewhat competitive in the 4th quarter. The Elam Ending makes the game somewhat interesting but also just go back to East vs. West please.

The NFL abandoned it’s abysmal Pro-Bowl Game and now does Flag Football and events such as dodgeball. The NFL with its physicality makes having an exhibition game difficult to replicate a real game due to players not wanting to get injured. I applaud the NFL in trying different events such as best catch, precision passing, and move the chains amongst others but it’s not a football game.

The NHL puts on a tournament for it’s All-Star-Game with an elimination 3-on-3 tournament with a semifinals and a final. Each game is 20 minutes. I love the open-ice game with only 3 players but it’s not a real game. What is baseball only has 5 defensive players?

What Major League Baseball does best is put on a showcase for it’s All-Star period that actually features a competitive game that actually is the game!

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
