De La Cruz Breaking Records at the Age of 21!

Saturday Night, Elly De La Cruz stole second….. third…..and HOME in the same inning!

He was the first Reds player to do so since 1919. The game was tied 5-5, when De La Cruz stole second base, and then on a 1-2 count, he took third base without a throw. The frustrated Brewers pitcher caught the ball thrown back from his catcher and slowly turned his back and began walking back to the mound, and that is when De La Cruz took off for home and beat the throw to the plate by a mile.

At 21 years old, Elly De La Cruz is the youngest player in the live-ball era (since 1920) to steal 3 bases in an inning.
