The Cleveland Cavaliers are coming off a season where they won over 50 games, but also suffered a disappointing first-round playoff loss to the New York Knicks.

GM Koby Altman, realized the team needed to add more shooting so they signed former Philadelphia 76ers forward, Georges Niang. The 30-year old stretch forward shoots over 40% from behind the arc, and also has spent most of his career playing alongside Donovan Mitchell.

Niang’s deal was for 3 years and $26 million.

The Cavs also resigned unrestricted free-agent Caris LeVert. He signed for 2 years at $32 million. LeVert is coming off a season where he had career highs on 3-pointers made (127) and 3-point percentage (39%).

The front office wasn’t done, as they made its biggest splash by acquiring Miami Heat sharpshooter, Max Strus. He agreed to a 4-year deal at $63 million.

He lands in Cleveland via a 3-team trade in which the Cavs sent Cedi Osman, Lamar Stevens, and a second-round pick to the Spurs while the Heat receive a second-round pick from Cleveland.

Other moves by the organization include trading for backup center Damian Jones and signing former Warriors guard Ty Jerome. These moves are to add roster depth.

The Cavs have a solid roster and are staying proactive with their roster instead of just running it back. The Cavs desperately needed more outside shooting, and roster depth. They could also use some more wing scoring but that is a need of most NBA teams.
