The Cleveland Cavaliers went into free agency with limited resources, while at the same time, having to add more perimeter scoring and toughness, along with more size. With the goal to improve upon a disappointing early first round playoff exit against the New York Knicks.

The Cavs first free agent addition was resigning shooting guard Caris LeVert, along with signing of former Philadelphia 76ers forward George’s Niang to a 3 year deal on day 1 of free agency.

On day 2 of free agency, in the morning The Cavs finalized a three trade with the Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs acquiring guard/forward Max Strus, in a sign and trade deal , with the Cavs sending forwards Cedi Osman and Lamar Stevens to San Antonio.

Throughout social media and sports talk shows I’ve heard and read post from fans complaining about the addition of Max Strus, but many of these fans that are complaining or in their feelings were most likely the same fans complaining about the lack of outside shooting during the playoff series against the New York Knicks.

My opinion is this, people we can’t have it both ways, complaining about a problematic area but when it’s addressed they’re still unhappy. With limited resources what did Cavs fans expect, because I’m confused.

In addition, the Cavs also signed guard Ty Jerome formerly of Golden State, and in a trade with the Utah Jazz, acquired center Damien Jones.

All we can do is hope that coach, JB Bickerstaff, can make all the newly acquired acquisitions fit, and make the Cavs into a serious contender in the NBA Eastern Conference for the 2023-24 basketball season.

Do you think the Cavaliers new acquisitions will allow them to improve for the 2023-24 season? Let us know on Twitter @WeLikeSportzPC.
