The Major League Baseball All-Star Starters have been announced and the American League has six players from the AL West and three players from the AL East. The AL Central has zero starters.

The AL Central has been bad this year with the Twins and Guardians leading the division with a .488 winning percentage. The Royals are horrible and only have two more wins than the Oakland Athletics.

The not so excellent play by the teams obviously hurt the players on AL Central clubs like José Ramírez of the Guardians.

One could argue that his stats are just as good as Josh Jung’s of the Rangers but the Rangers are one of the feel-good stories of 2023.

Bottom line is that the AL Central isn’t good and the AL all-star representatives in Seattle will be from the two other divisions.

Here are the AL Starters listed below:

C — Jonah Heim, Rangers
1B — Yandy Diaz, Rays
2B — Marcus Semien, Rangers
SS — Corey Seager, Rangers
3B — Josh Jung, Rangers
DH — Shohei Ohtani, Angels
OF — Mike Trout, Angels
OF — Randy Arozarena, Rays
OF — Aaron Judge, Yankees

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
