On Thursday afternoon, David Purdum of ESPN, reported that former Indianapolis Colts cornerback, Isaiah Rodgers, placed a $1,000 prop bet on the over/under rushing yards by a Colts running back for last season, and won.

On Thursday, two Colts players, free agent Demetrius Taylor, and a Titans offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere, were all suspended for some portion of the upcoming 2023 season.

Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry of the Indianapolis Colts were both waived by the team because of this news.

The Colts had released a statement from from their general manager, Chris Ballard.

“The integrity of the game is of the utmost importance. As an organization we will continue to educate our players, coaches, and staff on the policies in place and the significant consequences that may occur with violations.”

Rodgers had previously stated on social media that he takes full responsibility for his actions as well.

The NFL currently has nine players suspended due to gambling in 2023 so far, and with sports betting becoming more and more easily accessible, how many players will be looking at suspension in the near future?? Should players be allowed to bet on sports even though they are a professional athlete? Let us know on Twitter @WeLikeSportzPC.
