According to the Columbus Dispatch, season ticket sales for the football Buckeyes have gone over 55,000 this upcoming season. 55,367 is the exact number that have been purchased by faculty and staff, and the general public.
The number of season tickets is somewhat shocking considering Ohio State only has 6 games at home this season, compared to 8 last season and 7 regularly.
However, due to fewer games, season ticket packages can be purchased cheaper. One can purchase a $410 season ticket in the cheapest section, while the most expensive section is $956, but that also will cost another $1,500 per-seat contribution to the Buckeye Club.
Ohio State sold 56,484 season tickets last year and played 8 games with marquee games against Notre Dame and Michigan. Ohio State averaged 104,663 fans last season.
The Buckeyes home schedule includes non-conference games against Youngstown State, and Western Kentucky. They host B1G opponents Maryland, Penn State, Michigan State (night game), and Minnesota.
