CLEVELAND – Last night the Oakland A’s faced the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field for the game 2 of a three game series. The A’s have been the bottom feeders of Major League Baseball this season.

The A’s took an early lead putting up 4 runs in the 3rd inning on rookie Gavin Williams, who made his Major League debut. The Guardians came storming back in the bottom of the 3rd putting up 3 runs of their own.

In the bottom of the 5th, Red Hot Josh Naylor hit a single into right field scoring Ramirez to tie the game at 4.

Then in the 7th inning, Oakland took a 2 run lead, seemed like the Guardians backs were against the wall.

The Guardians didn’t quit, once again the Red Hot Josh Naylor comes to the plate in the bottom of the 7th, and hits a solo shot to right field to bring the Guardians within 1 run going into the 8th inning.

Oakland wasn’t able to put up any insurance runs in the top of the 8th, so going into the bottom of the 8th, the score is Oakland 6, Cleveland 5.

Centerfielder Myles Straw got the Guardians going, singling to right field, then comes younger brother of Josh Naylor, Bo Naylor, looking for his first career hit in the big leagues, and what a time to get it, Naylor took an outside pitch to left field for a single, cracking his first hit in the big leagues. Now, the Guardians have Straw on 3rd and Naylor on 1st. Stepping to the plate, Steven Kwan, who doubled to right scoring Straw from 3rd, and Naylor flying around the bases, also scored on a throwing error by Oakland to take the lead 7-6.

The Guardians held on to the lead in the bottom of the 9th to win game 2 by one run.
