That guy would be “Burnie” the mascot of the Miami Heat. Why is that guy being mentioned? The reason being because that guy got seriously hurt, by MMA fighter Conor McGregor!

The incident happened Friday night during Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Miami Heat promotional team brought in the “Notorious” one for a scripted halftime bit, in which he was to play fight and pretend to knock out the mascot, however while delivering the blows, Burnie got hurt.

McGregor had just announced before the on-court incident that his TIDL Sport body spray, will be a Miami Heat team sponsor. The fans booed Conor before and after the punches to the mascot, so this mishap should not change what South Beach fans already thought about McGregor.

Reports are that the guy who plays Burnie went to the ER following the incident, and has since been released.

McGregor is set to return to the octagon, to fight Michael Chandler later this year. This will be his first action since he broke his leg ,while fighting Dustin Poirier, in July 2010.
