On Monday, May 29th the Notre Dame Fighting Irish faced off against the Duke Blue Devils in the 2023 NCAA Lacrosse National Championship.

The #1 seeded Blue Devils held off #5 Penn State in the semi finals with the score of 16-15. While the #3 Irish had a barn burner against #2 Virginia, with the score ending at 13-12.

The first half seemed to be all Notre Dame, leading the top ranked Blue Devils 6-1. The Blue Devils however still had a lot of fight left in them. roaring back in the second half, netting 6 goals in the 3rd quarter of the game.

Notre Dame never let off the gas, scoring another 7 goals in the second half, it was just too much for the Blue Devils.

The Irish topped the Blue Devils 13-9, and wins the first National Championship in the programs history.
