The NHL playoffs have the final two teams remaining. The Florida Panthers and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Let’s take a look at how both teams got to the finals.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers came into the playoffs as the underdogs, and the #8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

  1. Round 1 – Florida Panthers beat Boston Bruins 4-3
  2. Round 2 – Florida Panthers beat Toronto Maple Leafs 4-1
  3. Round 3 – Florida Panthers beat Carolina Hurricanes 4-0

Although the Panthers are the underdog going into the Finals, I think they are the heavy favorite. Taking down two #1 seeds on their path to the finals.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Knights came into the playoffs as a favorite coming out of the Western Conference, and were a #1 seed.

  1. Round 1 – Vegas Golden Knights beat Winnipeg Jets 4-1
  2. Round 2 – Vegas Golden Knights beat Edmonton Oilers 4-2
  3. Round 3 – Vegas Golden Knights beat Dallas Stars 4-2

The Golden Knights were a favorite coming into the playoffs, they are going to be a tough team to beat in the finals.

Some key players to look at during the finals:

Florida Panthers – Sergei Bobrovsky – Bob has played in 14 games and started 13 of them and has a 2023 playoff record of 11-2, with a GAA of 2.21.

Florida Panthers

Vegas Golden Knights – Jack Eichel – Eichel has played in 17 games, with 18 points. 6G-12A. Eichel was the second overall pick behind Conor McDavid. He has lived in his shadow since draft day. Look for Eichel to beat McDavid in something… winning a cup.
