With the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select, Anthony Richardson QB, Florida.

The dynamic quarterback joins a team that is looking for a long-term solution, one they have not had since Andrew Luck retired.

The organization has brought in Gardner Minshew to go along with Sam Ehlinger but Richardson is the team’s future.

One of the reasons the Colts drafted Richardson is because he is an electric type player, who can move the pocket and run if he has to. At 6’4″, 244 lbs. Richardson tested as the most athletic QB, in pre-draft measurements in NFL history.

The Colts will need Anthony Ricardson to be elusive considering the Colts allowed 60 sacks in 2022 the second most behind Denver’s 63.

The Colts are hoping the O-Line can keep the pocket clean in 2023 especially when Richardson eventually makes his debut, but one thing Ricardson knows is how to keep things clean off the field.

On the “Kevin and Query” Show on 1075 The Fan the account of Richardson’s humility was relayed by an attendee guest speaker of the NFL rookie orientation program.

The story is that after the rookies enjoyed a dinner attended by all the potential draftees the room was left a mess and that did not sit well with the 20-year old Mr. Richardson.

The then future first-round pick went around cleaning tables and throwing out trash even though he was told that his demonstration of cleanliness wasn’t needed. Richardson responded by continuing his efforts and said, “We left this room in an unacceptable condition, and it’s not right for us to expect the staff to clean it all up.”

Richardson has all the tools to be a good quarterback in the league, but his strong work ethic, and his maturity should help him be the successful field general the Colts are banking on him to be.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
