We head to Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada, for the final matchup between the Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays started the season 13-0, tied for the longest winning streak to begin a season. Many were unimpressed with the Rays start, because of the below average teams they beat.

Division rival Toronto was definitely unimpressed, as they put a halt to the Rays winning streak. Toronto defeated the Rays 6-3 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday. The Rays now hand the ball to their ace Shane McClanahan, to try and avoid a sweep and get back in the win column.

McClanahan is 3-0 on the season with a 1.59 ERA and 21 strikeouts. He’ll be countering Toronto’s ace Alek Manoah who comes in 1-0 on the season with a 4.91 ERA. Manoah has only gone past the fifth inning once this season, out of three starts. In the two starts he hasn’t made it past the fifth, he’s given up eight runs combined.

You can feel how you want about the Rays 13-0 start, at the end of the day its how you finish the season, not how you start it. But what is clear, is that Manoah has yet to be the starter the Blue Jays are expecting him to be. I look for the Rays to come out with some urgency today to avoid being swept, while McClanahan keeps Toronto’s bats in order.

Official Pick: Tampa Bay F5 -.5 +100

(For new bettors this means the Rays need to be winning by the end of the fifth inning)

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
