CLEVELAND – The Pittsburgh Penguins have been one of the top teams in the NHL for many years.. this year just doesn’t seem to be the Penguins, the same Pens I grew up watching and cheering for.

The Penguins are holding on to the 8th and final spot in the Eastern Conference by what seems to be dental floss. The Penguins have eight games remaining going into tonight’s matchup, against the Nashville Predators, and Pittsburgh is sitting at 82 points behind the Islanders with 87 points.

Now here is the worst part, the Penguins have a one point lead over the Florida Panthers, who came off a win last night, after a 7-game losing streak.

There are 7 teams still in the hunt to crack the top 8 in the Eastern Conference, and get an opportunity to play for the Stanley Cup.

At this point, it isn’t looking good for Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
