The debate has officially ramped up due to a critical injury that happened to New York Mets closer, Edwin Diaz, during the World Baseball Classic a few days ago.
Team Puerto Rico defeated the Dominican Republic, on Wednesday evening, and following a brief celebration near the pitchers mound, Edwin Diaz went down with a season ending injury.
Plenty of baseball fans, especially Major League Baseball fans, are growing upset because of injuries happening during the World Baseball Classic, but following this injury four out of five baseball players stated that the WBC is more important to them than a World Series victory.
Chris Rose stated his opinion regarding the World Baseball Classic and why it is important for players that are representing their country.
Francisco Lindor spoke to ESPN about losing Edwin Diaz for both the World Baseball Classic and on the Mets as well.
