We head to Brooklyn, NY for today’s matchup deciding the A-10 championship. The VCU Rams take on the Dayton Flyers in the final game of conference play. VCU finished the regular season first in the A-10, with Dayton finishing 4th.
These two teams split the regular season matchup 1-1, with Dayton winning the most recent on February 7th, 62-58. VCU comes in on an eight game winning streak, winning its first two conference tournament games easily. Dayton, who’ve won their last two as well, hasn’t looked impressive in tournament play.
A -10.5 point favorite, Dayton squeaked by Saint Joseph’s and was in a battle with Fordam until the final five mins of regulation. Throughout the regular season the Flyers have had troubles on the road. They’re 5-8 against the spread on the road and 2-6 against the spread on a neutral site.
VCU is 6-1 against the spread its last seven overall. The Rams have a small advantage in rest as they played earlier in the day opposed to the Flyers; but most importantly the Rams have had to exert less energy in taking down their last two opponents.
VCU will look to avenge its recent loss to Dayton, but also to end their season on a nine game winning streak with the conference title in hand.
