2.) Gavin Williams / Daniel Espino

This is an interesting one, due to the fact, there is a possibility both of these individuals can replace two members of the rotation.

Aaron Civale hasn’t proven himself to maintain a permanent spot in the Guardians rotation, and Zach Plesac may have proven why not to include him in the rotation, especially after injuring himself punching the mound in 2022.

Daniel Espino may be a stretch here, due to the fact of his earned run average, as well as dealing with a sore right shoulder, forcing him to miss most of the 2022 season.

Rotowire believes that Espino might not be a factor in the Guardians rotation until the 2024 season because of how deep the Guardians rotation is. In 33 starts, Espino has a record of 4-11, and an ERA of 3.57, 53 walks and 221 strikeouts.

Rotowire believes that Gavin Williams, could make his MLB debut in the middle of the 2023 season. Williams spent four years at East Carolina for baseball and only one season in the minors.

Williams made 25 starts in the minors between the Lake County Captains and Akron RubberDucks, posted a record of 5-4, a 1.96 ERA, 40 walks, and 149 strikeouts.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Williams replaced Plesac in the rotation, if Plesac makes the rotation out of spring.

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
