While the Super Bowl is the only thing on most bettors mind today, there is still plenty of value on the board elsewhere. We head to Columbus, Ohio to the Value City Arena, where thee Ohio State Buckeyes welcome the Michigan State Spartans.
It’s been a rough stretch for the Buckeyes, and a disappointing season, as they come in 11-13 on the season and 1-9 in their last ten games. Ohio State has lost five straight games. Those losses have came against formidable opponents with a combined record of 80-42 on the year.
Michigan State enters today’s contest 15-9 on the season, but as the underdog in this matchup. So you must be asking, why is the team on a five game losing streak the favorite?
The Spartans have struggled mightily on the road. Coming in 0-4 against the spread in their last four road matchups. The home team has also dominated in this series. In the last 21 games the home team is 15-5-1 against the spread.
As bad as things have been for the Buckeyes they’re still 8-4 at home and average 75 Points Per Game. Fans are aware of the Spartans road woes, but they’re also just averaging 68 PPG.
Look for the Buckeyes to get into the win column, and squeak out a cover as Michigan State has only covered once in its last six matchups.
