On Wednesday, the Cincinnati Reds acquired young outfielder Will Benson, from the Cleveland Guardians. The Guards will receive second year outfielder, Justin Boyd.

Benson hit .182 in 61 plate appearances, and is looking to contribute to a Reds team that has struggled for the past few years. With this addition, the Reds are hoping they can get back on track and become more competitive in the upcoming 2023 season.

Personally, I’d like to see more moves regarding Cincinnati’s ball club. Considering the fact that the Reds lost 100 games last year, for only the second time in franchise history, it seems needed. With this move, along with others in the future, maybe the Reds will be back in the race for the National League pennant, one can hope at least.

Who knows maybe, just maybe, the Reds can string together some players and create a 2.0 version of the Big Red Machine .

Most importantly, I believe that Cincinnati needs to keep on making additions, as they continue to build heading into Spring Training, just a few weeks away. Only time will tell for this franchise and their loyal fan base. Reds fans have been anxiously waiting for a deep playoff run since winning it all in 1990.

Within a few weeks, Reds fans will get a better idea where their team stands for the upcoming 2023 campaign. As the year progresses, the franchise will hopefully be able to continue to steer their season into a winning direction, at minimum, and potentially make a playoff appearance.

All I know, is this is looking to be a long MLB Season. What move should the Reds make next? Let us know on Twitter @WeLikeSportzPC .

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
