On Friday afternoon, news broke according to NBA Insider, Shams Charania, that Brooklyn Nets guard, Kyrie Irving, has requested a trade. Irving, also mentioned that if the Nets don’t trade him, he will be leaving in free agency following this season.
What will the future hold for the Nets following this news? As of this writing, the Nets are sitting in the fourth place spot in the Eastern Conference standings, and are 5.5 games back of the first place, Boston Celtics.
Irving is currently in his 12th season in the NBA. Kyrie has played in 651 career games, and has averaged 23.3 points per game, 5.7 assists per game, 3.9 total rebounds per game, along with a field goal percentage of .471. Throughout his 12 year career, Irving, has played with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets.
