Plenty of sports fans that live in the Buckeye State that aren’t Cincinnati fans, are most likely Cleveland fans, and often joke that Cincinnati isn’t apart of Ohio but rather, Kentucky.
In their defense though, the airport is located in Hebron, Kentucky.
On Sunday, the Cincinnati (Ohio) Bengals play at Kansas City and the team’s roster will have a handful of impact players that are true Ohioans, that played at The Ohio State University. These former Buckeyes give the Bengals that Ohio connection and in a state that has so much pride especially in football, it matters.
Who are these Ohio guys you ask?
1. Joe Burrow – yeah I understand he went to LSU and won a national championship but OSU still claims him in my mind , as well as the SEC.
2. Sam Hubbard – the Defensive End that raced across the field 98 yards, against the Ravens to secure the wild card playoff win.
3. Eli Apple – more known for his social media interactions with his mom and lately with the Damar Hamlin stuff. He still has the ability to make a few solid plays, especially when he’s not getting burned.
4. Vonn Bell – had 4 interceptions in the regular season with 2 forced fumbles. He also had a sack against the Bills in the divisional round.
5. Drue Chrisman – the punter was 13th in the NFL with a 47.8 yd average.
If Cincinnati wants to return to the Super Bowl, the Ohio “flavor” that is on the team will more than likely have to have a key impact on getting the Bengals to Glendale, Arizona.
