With March 3rd on the horizon, the NHL trade deadline is approaching quickly. The Boston Bruins have a decision to make before then, that decision being, what direction does the franchise want to head to in the near future. Do the Bruins “go all- in” and trade for someone who will help you win now? It’s obvious their championship window is now, with Patrice Bergeron (37) and Brad Marchand (34) aging quickly. So the question is , do you want to win now?
The Bruins could try to target Chicago Blackhawks right winger , Patrick Kane. What would Boston want to give up for Kane, who also isn’t getting any younger either, Kane turned 34 this past November. If you could get a similar package to the one they traded for Taylor Hall, then great. Boston, pull the trigger and get Patrick Kane, however give up too much.
The Bruins right now are leading the NHL with 80 points and don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Playoff hockey is different however, it’s a much more electrifying environment, and the lights shine a bit brighter. My thought still stands, Patrick Kane, and his experience would be a great addition in Boston.
