CLEVELAND – Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov is under fire after he opted out to wear the the Flyer Gay Pride jerseys for team warm ups.

Provorov stated that it was against his Russian Orthodox beliefs.

Here is my take… do I think that the NHL should stand behind the LBGTQ+ community? Yes, 100%. But should players be punished for not supporting it? Absolutely not. This is the United States of America, where we have the freedom of speech and freedom of religion.

Is the goal of the LBGTQ+ to have their own rights and privileges? So why take away another persons right to do the same?
