Let’s get the premature poll going right now.
Here is my Top 10 college football teams going into the 2023 season.
10. Washington Huskies – The Huskies finished the season at 11-2 and defeated the #20 Texas Longhorns in the Valero Alamo Bowl. With ex-Mississippi State running back Dillon Johnson transferring to UW will only help the program.
9. Oregon Ducks – Oregon finished their season at 10-3 and won their respective bowl game over an up and down North Carolina in a close one point game. With many athletes entering the transfer portal, look for the Ducks to secure some top notch additions to the roster.
8. Notre Dame Fighting Irish – The Irish had a rough year, I know.. BUT think about it.. started their season against Ohio State (top 4 finisher) and then lost to Marshall who ended up having a better year than average. The Irish ended the year at 9-4 and won the Taxslayer Gator bowl against South Carolina. With a new head coach, look for the Irish to be a top 5 team by years end.
7. Clemson Tigers – Clemson, Clemson, Clemson… the Tigers finished the year at 11-3 and got DESTROYED by the Volunteers in the national spotlight in the Capital One Orange Bowl. Yeah they won the ACC Championship, but who do they have to worry about in the ACC? NO ONE. Adding Riley (TCU) as the OC may help, but don’t look for the Tigers to crack the top 5.
6. Tennessee Volunteers – ROCKY FRIGGIN’ TOP! The Volunteers finished the year at 11-2 and taking down the SEC powerhouse Alabama, and just coming up short of the College Football Playoffs, and then beating ACC champ Clemson in the Capital One Orange Bowl. The Volunteers will come back next season looking for more.
5. TCU Horned Frogs – The Horned Frogs ended the year in the most awful way you could ever think of.. making it to the National Championship game to get blown out by the Georgia Bulldogs 65-7.. give me a break, the CFP Committee wasted a spot on these bums.. year after year TCU fans complain they aren’t given a shot. Here was your shot. Yeah you beat Michigan in the semi final, Michigan played like garbage, they beat themselves, and then they get blown out in the championship. The only reason I have them in the top 5 is because they made it to the ship, but they will be out of top 10 by the half way point of the season.
4. Michigan Wolverines – Michigan you are bums as well.. took out the Ohio State Buckeyes, make the CFP AND THEN BLOW IT to TCU.. embarrassing. But you know they are still Michigan, they have the Big Ten behind them. Michigan will always be a top 5 team and the first to choke.
3. Ohio State Buckeyes – I hate Ohio State, they are good, that’s why I hate them. That’s all I’ll say.
2. Alabama Crimson Tide- Its Alabama and Nick Saban.
1. Georgia Bulldogs – Georgia will remain number 1, they have a great defense, and will continue to have a great defense. The only down fall I see is losing their 30 year old QB Stentson Bennett. I see Georgia losing the #1 spot by the end of the year, but will remain contenders for the CFP.
