Blackhawks 2024 NHL Draft sets tone for more promise

It was a decision that General Manager Kyle Davidson and his staff sat at for about 2 months. Blackhawks had just been awarded the #2 overall pick and now it would be either Ivan Demidov or Artyum Levshunov.

Davidson with a calm presence walked to the stage on Friday night with #1 overall pick Connor Bedard to deliver the message to Hawks fans: Artyum Levshunov

Levshunov gives the Blackhawks a potential 1st line Blue Liner that gives incredible offensive upside as a Defenseman but the Blackhawks weren’t done.

With a trade between the Islanders and Hawks the Blackhawks had a selection at #18. Now many thought Davidson would take a chance on Cole Eiserman but no, instead he went for Sacha Boisvert. A potential 2nd line center that gives the Blackhawks some size up the middle.

With that many thought the Blackhawks were done but no, instead using 2 second rounders to move back in at #27 to take Marek Vanacker. Vanacker gives the Blackhawks some potential offensive upside however he will miss 4-6 months with shoulder surgery.

This draft above all else will tell us how Davidsons rebuild has worked. He got a Face of the Franchise with Bedard but this 2024 class will either make or break his plan.
